About
Tunakupenda is a Community Interest Company working across visual and performing arts. It presents and promotes new and established artists through exhibitions, recording, publishing, management, creative development and international exposure.
To promote new and existing talent worldwide.
To create meaningful encounters between artists, audiences and communities while preserving important cultural stories for future generations.
Tunakupenda was created because important work was being made and then quietly disappearing — collections held in storage, performances that left no record, artists without a route to an audience.
“Tunakupenda” carries the sense of we love you. “Celebrate Creativity” is the working instruction that follows from it: put the work in front of people, treat it seriously, and make sure the story around it survives.
As a Community Interest Company, Tunakupenda's assets and surpluses are committed to its community purpose rather than to private benefit.
Exhibitions, live poetry, music and performance presented together rather than separately.
Representation, promotion and creative development for new and established artists.
Bringing work to communities with limited access to cultural programmes.
Youth workshops, schools engagement and community learning built around the work on show.
Capturing performances, stories and writing so they outlast the exhibition.
Building routes for artists to reach audiences beyond the United Kingdom.
